Zeus-- Lord of Olympia: The greek god of thunderstorms, and the leader of the other gods. Used lightning bolts as a principle weapon. However, he was a big lecher and rapist, and quite muscular and manly. Not really the same as the midgit dwarf that holds hammers and wouldn't be able to get it on with lina even if his life depended on it.
Morphling-- Morphling: To morph means to change. Fitting, for a being of water, an substance with an ever-changing shape.
Sven-- Rogueknight: Sven, in Scandinavia, is a first name meaning "young warrior."
Slithice-- Naga Siren: Slithice is a derivative of the word slither, which is pretty much what she does to move. And Naga is Sanskrit for Snake.
Rikimaru-- Stealth Assassin: Rikimaru is a character from the Tenchu game series, which is all about... stealthy ninja assassin guys. Quite an interesting storyline... Rikimaru, the name, literally means "wheels of strength."
Lina Inverse-- Slayer: Lina is a somewhat slutty, powerful dragon killer. She is featured in the Anime Slayers.
Syllabear-- Lone Druid: Syllabear is an homage to a friend and co-designer of some of the early dota allstars games, Syllable. That's probably why this hero kicks so much ass.
Yurnero-- Juggernaut: This may be clutching at straws here, but Yerne means quick and eager. Nero, the second part of his name, comes from emperor Nero of ancient rome, who was known for destruction because he burned rome to the ground on purpose for no good reason. So Yurnero, regardless of whether icefrog knows it or not, could mean Quick Destroyer, which is certainly what omnislash is.
Aggron Stonebreaker-- Ogre Magi: Aggron is probably a derivative of the word aggro, short for aggressive. Stonebreaker is I suppose a testament to that, because people break things when they're aggressive. Even stones.
Boush-- Tinker: In Farsi, his name means "kiss." But in Star Wars, Boush is the name of the bounty hunter princess leah is pretending to be when she pretends she's someone else to Jabba the Hutt.
Furion-- Prophet: Malfurion Stormrage is the commander-in-chief of the Battle of Mount Hyjal, against Archimonde the defiler, from the Warcraft III Reign of Chaos campaign.
Azwraith-- Phantom Lancer: Az is used in angelic names, such as Azrael the Exterminating Angel. Wraith pretty much is a ghost, or a tricky sort of spirit. Put them together and you have a powerful ghost type being. Maybe that's where dopplewalk gets it's roots.
Tiny-- Stone Giant: A pun, obviously. Tiny means small, and the stone giant is anything but. If you didn't get the joke you should be slapped.
Squee and Spleen-- Goblin Techies: Squee is a character from Johnny the Homicidal Maniac. Spleen is a human organ. Again, slap therapy for anyone who didn't know that.
They are also a duo of legendary goblins in MTG, in case you wanted to get a more generic meaning.
Rexxar-- Beastmaster: Rexxar is the main character of the warcraft III TFT custom orc campaign. Can summon his ally Misha, a powerful bear. Rexxar is half orc, half ogre. A fierce warrior of the mok'nathal-- he helps thrall kill Admiral Proudmoore, the Orc-hating racist.
Razzil Darkbrew-- Alchemist: Razzil is a form of the word Dazzle, which pretty much means to amaze. Darkbrew is a surname that deals with evil potion makers.
Raijin Thunderkeg-- Storm Spirit: Raijin is the deity of thunder in japanese mythology. Thunderkeg is simply a panda surname, making him the Panda (?) god of storms. A little odd to be sure.
Mortred,Phantom Assassin- The name "Mortred" came from the character "Mordred" in the movie Excalibur. 'Coz Mordred's armor in Excalibur is almost like that of Mortred's.
